Power Audio Editor Editor's Review
Power Audio Editor is a semi-professional solution for recording and editing audio files. Processing audio files with the help of this software is very easy due to the fact that it has an easy to use interface. You can use it to mix audio from multiple files, to add effects, to generate custom sounds, and so on.
Like I said, the user interface is designed to offer easy access to all the program's features and statistics. It displays information about the length of the audio file and about the currently selected part. Three toolbars that support floating are also visible by default on the main window. It's possible to customize these toolbars by dragging other buttons over them.
Recording audio is very easy. When you click the 'record' button, a dialog appears asking you to select the audio source used for recording. The program supports pausing the recording process. When you are satisfied with the recording you can press the "Keep" button. The audio you recorded is analyzed and sent to the main window, allowing you to edit, process, or save it.
Power Audio Editor supports sound effects like amplify, normalize, fade in, fade out, noise reduction, reverb, and echo. These effects can be applied to the whole audio file or to a selected timespan. The supported output formats include MP3, WMA, WAV, OGG, DSP, GSM, ADPCM, and many others. Each output format can be customized.
Pluses: The program can display a separate window which shows the frequency analysis of the current audio file.
Drawbacks / flaws:
In conclusion: Power Audio Editor won't turn you into a professional DJ. However, in my opinion, its features make it worth a try.
